- Create new students: Automatically generate new student accounts in Canvas instantly upon form submission.
- Enroll users to a course: Automatically enroll existing Canvas users into specific courses based on their form selections.
How to Connect: Setting Up Developer Keys
To authorize Jform to communicate with your Canvas environment, you will need to generate a Developer Key inside Instructure:
- Log in to your Canvas instance as an Administrator.
- Navigate to Admin in the global navigation menu, select your account, and click on Developer Keys.
- Click the + Developer Key button and choose + API Key.
- Fill out the Key Settings (Name it something recognizable like "Jform Integration"). The Redirect URI's should be set to "https://secure.jotform.com/integration/oauth/callback"
- Set the State to ON and click Save.
- Copy the newly generated Client ID (the number under the Details column), the Client Secret (click "Show Key" to reveal it) and your Canvas Domain. Paste these credentials into your Jform integration settings to complete the connection.
While filling out your settings for the new Developer Key you can choose to limit the scopes related to that key. The following are the endpoints currently being used by Jform and will need to be whitelisted to ensure the integration works correctly:
